CV Format |
Your CV is the first opportunity to make an impression on a new employer. Key points to remember are:
- Your Name and Contact Details
- Your education and professional qualifications
- IT skills
- Relevant training courses associated to your work
- History of your employment beginning with the most recent.
It should demonstrate your skills, experience and achievements. Avoid management terms that are likely to be meaningless to anyone outside of your organisation. If you are referring to targets reached or specific improvements, make sure that the reader understands the impact of your achievement. Each period of employment should include dates, job title, the responsibilities held and duties performed. Include relevant projects and explain management and training duties that you have undertaken. Ideally your CV should be 2-3 pages long, but do not omit areas of your experience just to reduce the length of your CV.
Bullet points can be easier to read than paragraphs and remember to double check the spelling.
Always send you CV with a brief covering letter. Please click here for an example.
